World Beer Awards 2023 Winners Revealed

24.08.23
The title of World’s Best has been awarded after an extensive judging process.
The World Beer Awards 2023, now in its sixteenth year, proudly reveals the winners of the prestigious titles across ten distinct categories. This international competition recognises and celebrates the finest beers from around the globe, with an esteemed panel of judges meticulously evaluating each style winner to determine the ultimate World's Best.

The deadline closed in June for entries, marking the beginning of an extensive judging process conducted over multiple rounds. With an unrivalled dedication to recognising excellence, the World Beer Awards sets the bar high for the global brewing community.

In the opening round, each beer underwent rigorous tasting in its relevant style, leading to the selection of medal and style winners in each country. Round one winners were previously announced on Thursday 3 August 2023, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey.

Judges converged in London for rounds two and three, where the true champions emerged. Round two saw the panel pitting country style winners against each other to determine the best in each style worldwide. In round three, the winners in each style engaged in a fierce battle for the coveted title of World’s Best in each of the ten main categories.

And now after weeks of anticipation, the moment has arrived! Brace yourself for a lineup of exceptional brews. From dynamic flavours of Amsterdam Brewing’s Double Tempest, crowned as World’s Best Flavoured Beer to crisp and refreshing Touch Down Kiyosato Lager by Yatsugatake Brewery’s, hailed as the World’s Best Lager.

Judge Adrian-Tierney Jones commented: “Once again the winners in the World Beer Awards demonstrate a pulsating and exciting snapshot of some of the most exciting beers being brewed across the globe. Congratulations naturally go to the winners, but in my final year as the chair of judges for the Awards I would also like to thank the many judges who have applied themselves to their tasks with diligence and great professionalism.”

Anita Ujszaszi, awards director of the World Beer Awards, added: “Our judges had the tough task of choosing from such a high standard of beers and I think they have done a wonderful job. I also want to thank all of the brands that entered and allowed us to consider their beers.”
